Another birthday, they come around so quickly these days! we spent the weekend with Lyn & Al and I was thoroughly spoilt with bubbly, flowers and great company We arrived just as the pub opened, great timing as always! We had lunch in Stamford and managed to dodge the showers, then went for a bit of walk and some retail therapy followed by a drive round some lovely villages. Then it was back to the Cheese for a shower and change. Early evening drinks at the Bell followed by a great dinner back at the Cheese and yet more drinks. All too soon we were tottering back to our room for some much needed sleep. Up bright and early for breakfast which was so good it kept us going for the rest of the day! Lyn & Al arrived for coffee on the deck and then reluctantly we had to make our way home. Like Cinderella I found myself back in our local pub with the Sunday papers just 3 hours later despite heavy traffic around heathrow and the top of the M3 wondering just where the weekend had gone. All in all it was the perfect relaxing birthday weekend.
